UNCOVERING SYSTEMIC RACISM

About us

Forgotten History is a project that focuses on teaching Grade 10 students topics surrounding Black History, racism and slavery. Through a series of five 1-hour lessons that use mediums such as video, art, poetry, and music, students will be more aware of how they can help dismantle systemic racism in our society. A special guest will come in for some of the lessons to provide more information on certain topics and themes. Throughout each lesson, students will be given an opportunity to share their views and establish a solid understanding of Black History in BC.

We partner with schools in the Lower Mainland to incorporate these lessons into their Socials 10 curriculum. Ultimately, the main goal of this project is to equip students with the knowledge and education needed to comprehend various racial issues and promote equality in our society.
